Find Your B-Vent Fireplace at the Lowest Price Online, Guaranteed

A B-vent fireplace sends exhaust straight up through your roof using natural draft, so you don’t need to deal with a fan or sealed glass panel. The flame burns in the open, pulls its air from the room, and vents everything up through a double-wall pipe.

That’s what makes B-vent units some of the most realistic-looking fireplaces you have access to, usually more realistic than other types of vented gas fireplaces. They’re a perfect choice for your home or business, and there’s no better place to find yours than right here on this page.

The Great Fire Company has handpicked the top models from the best brands in the world, including Empire and Superior. We’ve got sizes ranging from 34” to 42”, starting at $1,589.

Empire B-Vent Models

Empire's Keystone Deluxe comes in two sizes (34” and 36”), both under $2,000 and ranging from 21,000 to 25,000 BTU. Perfect for any space where the fireplace is being installed for ambiance rather than heat. Comes with a remote control, and you get to choose the liner: herringbone or aged brick.

Superior B-Vent Models

Superior's BRT series runs from $2,629 to $4,829 and can reach upwards of 45,000 BTU, so this is the style you go with when you want a B-vent fireplace that actually warms a living room.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do B-vent fireplaces work?

They feed the fire by pulling air from the room. Then the exhaust is vented vertically through a double-wall metal pipe in your roof. The hot gases rise on their own. Open combustion is also why the flame looks more like a real wood fire than what you see behind sealed glass on a direct vent model.

What is the purpose of the B-vent?

The obvious point is to get dangerous combustion gases out of your house. The double-wall pipe keeps exhaust hot enough to draft upward on its own. It also insulates the surrounding framing from that heat.

Should I choose a B-vent or direct vent fireplace?

Both have their place, and we carry them both. Just comes down to priorities. A B-vent fireplace costs less and has a taller, more open flame. A direct vent fireplace is more efficient (70-85% vs 45-65%) and can vent horizontally through a sidewall, so you don't need roof access. There are also ventless gas fireplace models. Ask our experts for a personalized recommendation.

What else should I look for in a fireplace?

BTU needs to be sized to your room if you plan on using the fireplace for supplemental heat. Ignition type and media options are important as well for ease of use and ambiance.

Do I need help installing a B-vent fireplace?

Yes. You need a vertical roof penetration with Type B double-wall pipe sized to the unit's outlet collar. It’s very likely you’ll have to get a permit and an inspection. Call us at 1-321-334-2850 if you're not sure what your setup needs. We’ll steer you in the right direction.

Are B-vent fireplaces still being made?

Yes, but fewer modern fireplace manufacturers are producing them than ten years ago. Direct vent and electric models are far more prominent these days. That being said, we do have some awesome B-vent models if this is what your heart is set on!
